The Artek A331 pendant lamp is one of Alvar Aalto's best-known and most loved lighting models. The lamp, also known as "Beehive", illuminates warmly and diffusely thanks to the multi-layered hole-patterned ring structure. The staggered slats filter the light beautifully through the lattices. The Artek A331 lamp looks sculpturally gorgeous even without light. Alvar Aalto designed the lamp in 1953 for the premises of the University of Jyväskylä. The lamp is suitable for both home and public spaces and for many types of interior decoration.
