Vitra Rayonnage Mural shelves repeat the streamlined shapes and the combination of materials characteristic of Jean Prouvé's style. The shelf, designed in 1936, has two wall brackets made of sheet steel that resemble the rudder of an airplane or ship. The steel is offset by rounded oak shelves that soften the shape. The shelves are simply pushed into the precise horizontal slots on the wall brackets. The sculptural shelf is available in several different color combinations.
