Umbra Buddy chess

Umbra Buddy chess is a modern and elegant version of the classic doubles game developed in the 400s. The familiar figures from the Buddy product family made of zinc move on the game board, with nickel and titanium finishes to identify the differences. The Buddy characters move smoothly on the board due to the velvet lining attached to the bottom. Thanks to the steering, moving the pieces on the board also does not scratch and damage the surface.

The bottom of the chessboard has a velvet fabric finish, which protects the surface of the table from scratches. Umbra (Latin for "shadow") was founded in 1979 in Toronto, Canada. Paul Rowan asked his childhood friend Les Mandelbaum to join him and together they started to design everyday products into contemporary design.
