HAY Pao lamps were created in collaboration with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The lamps, in all their simplicity, are beautiful everyday objects that were inspired by the designer's trip to Mongolia. On his trip, Fukasawa saw many local tents, called "Pao" in Japanese, illuminating the landscape. Fukasawa was attracted by the glowing shape of these tents, which represented comfort and warmth, as well as the safety of home. Based on these ideas, the Pao series was born, which includes ceiling lamps in three different sizes and several different colors. Pao lamps fit beautifully on both rectangular and round dining tables.
