The HAY Crate chair has been given a new life thanks to the Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration. The Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld originally designed the chair back in 1934. The entire Crate product family was born at that time from the idea of ​​using extra wooden shipping boxes. Respecting this original idea and design, the new launch of the Crate chair still shows the same precisely balanced proportions, unapologetic structure, respect for materials and minimization of production costs.

The HAY Crate chair has a gently sloping backrest, sturdy armrests and plenty of seating space. The designer's characteristic architectural style is reflected in the design of the chair, while offering functionality and comfort for evening sittings. The Crate chair made of solid pine is suitable for many indoor and outdoor spaces. Seat comfort can be further increased with separately purchased seat cushions from the same series.

HAY – sustainable and creative solutions

HAY was founded in 2002 and already in the same year it had a furniture collection.
