Eero Aarnio Pastil was designed in 1967 and just one year later it was awarded the American Industrial Design Award thanks to its comfortable design and unique aesthetics. At the same time, The New York Times wrote about both the Pastil and Ballchairs that they were "the most comfortable shapes that can support the human body."
Reminiscent of oversized sweets, Pastil started for very practical reasons. At that time, the Ball Chair designed by Aarnio was sent a lot to the world, and a lot of padded empty space went with it. To fill this void, Aarnio began to develop Pastil, which he knew he wanted to design also from sustainable fiberglass. Thanks to its material, the chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The Pastil chair is available in eight different color options.
