Carl Hansen CH24 Wishbone is a chair designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1949, which has claimed its place as one of the most iconic design products. When designing the CH24 chair, Wegner decided to combine the back and armrest into one whole. The whole is supported by the chair's characteristic Y-shaped back, after which the chair is named.
The manufacture of the chair involves more than a hundred different work steps, most of which are done by hand. The hand-braided seat part alone requires about an hour's work time and 120 meters of paper string from its skillful creator. The Wishbone chair offers comfort, timelessness and pleasant aesthetics in a distinctive and elegant form. Over time, Wishbone has gained the recognition it deserves as a chair that epitomizes Danish modern design.
