The Vitra Eames DSW chairs are a renewed vision of the first legendary factory-made series. The chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, has beautiful maple legs with a black metal grid supporting them.
The seat part is made
from recycled plastic, which is obtained from German household waste
. DSW stands for Dining Height Side Chair Wood Base. The familiar shapes of the DSW chair offer unbeatable sitting comfort.
Chairs designed in the 1950s are still popular today thanks to their timeless and ergonomic design language. Different leg options give Eames chairs a different look. Thanks to their monoplicity, Vitra's chairs are perfectly suited to many spaces. The seat part of the original model of Eames chairs was made of fiberglass and the chairs were somewhat smaller in size.
At the 2015 Milan furniture fair, Vitra launched new sizes of Eames chairs, because the average height of people has increased by almost 10 cm in sixty years. With changes of a few centimeters and a small fine adjustment of the seat part, the seating comfort of the DSW chair could be improved even further.
