STOFF Copenhagen - The return of a beautiful classic
STOFF Copenhagen is a Danish company that re-produced the Nagel candlesticks that were very popular in the 1960s. The roots of the original Nagel products are located in Germany, where the Nagel family got used to the new, post-war life. About 20 years after the Second World War, Hans Nagel met the architect Werner Stoff in Cologne. Nagel and Stoff soon discovered that they shared a love for beautiful things and high-quality design, which encouraged Nagel to ask Werner for design help.
Hans Nagel said that he was stuck with an idea he got while skiing in the Alps. On his trip, Nagel had fallen into the project and caught his fall with his hand. In the event of an accidental fall, the three fingers of his other hand formed the most exquisite pattern project, and Nagel thought that this shape had to be captured in a candlestick. This was the beginning of Nagel and Werner's joint adventure, the end of which is global history.
Today, STOFF Copenhagen manufactures candlesticks with the same original drawings that were used in the 60s. This is how the dreams of Hans Nagel and Werner Stoff and the spirit of their era come to life, delighting today's design-loving generations.
