FDB Møbler - sustainable development ahead
Founded in 1942, the Danish FDB Møbler's designers include well-known names such as Børge Mogensen, Poul Volther and Jørgen Bækmark. From the beginning, FDB Møbler's furniture has been durable, interesting and widely sold.
In the 1980s, the factory ceased operations and the designers sold their drawings to other manufacturers, such as HAY. However, in 2013, a new opportunity opened up to start the FDB Møbler factory and in no time the brand regained its great popularity. The collection of the prestigious company still largely consists of the same classics as in the 40s, but new products are also added to the selection every year.
Today, the company's goal is to be the most sustainable design brand in the world - and they are already the most sustainable in Denmark. All of FDB's textiles have an Oeko-Tex certificate, every wood used is FSC-certified, and more and more products have also received the Nordic Swan label, which is better known in our country as the Swan label. Calculation of the exact carbon footprint of each product, as well as the entire group, is also currently underway.
