Paper string had not been used in furniture before, but reeds had taken its place. However, Wegner was confident and very enthusiastic about the appearance, stretchability and durability of paper string - as were many generations after him. Considered revolutionary, the CH25 lounge chair combines the designer's characteristic clarity and simplicity with interesting details, which has kept the lounge chair in strong popularity until these days.

In the CH25 lounge chair, just making the seat and backrest takes a skilled knitter about 10 hours and almost 400 meters of paper string.
