Artek 91 in walnut stain is a 2024 novelty and part of Artek's Kerroksia collection. Walnut was chosen as the shade because it resembles the table versions of the 1950s and it brings beautiful warmth, but also depth, to contemporary interiors. The walnut-stained 91 table top is exceptionally oak veneer. Oak gives the surface of the table liveliness with its striking pattern. The edge moldings and legs are birch, also stained with the same shade of walnut.
Artek 91 is a table designed by Alvar Aalto that fits many styles. Also called the Aalto table, 91 is suitable for both dining and working spaces. A table made of wood is both naturally beautiful and warm, but also a beautifully patinated piece of furniture. Aalto tables are united by a relaxed and familiar style that will stand the test of time. In accordance with the concept of multi-use, Aalto tables are suitable for both public and private spaces.
The tables designed by Alvar Aalto make great use of the inventive L-leg. Already introduced in 1933, the L-leg is one of the most central components of Aalto's furniture - its development was also considered by Aalto to be his greatest achievement.
