Artek 85th anniversary poster 50x70

The Artek 85th anniversary poster was designed in 2020 in honor of Artek turning 85. The poster designed by the artist Karoliina Hellberg is called "Garden as a Room". Karoliina Hellberg, the designer of the anniversary poster, visited the home of the architect couple Alvar and Aino Aalto in Helsinki and, while there, sketched detailed notes of the family's spectacular garden. The anniversary poster beautifully reflects Hellberg's observations about the Aalto's home in Riihitie, and especially the fact that the terrace and garden were treated as if they were an additional room in addition to the interior.

Artek - long-lived classics

Artek was founded in 1935 to sell and market furniture designed by Alvar Aalto . Artek's founders Alvar and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen published a manifesto drawn up in the spirit of functionalism, according to which Artek's purpose was "to trade in furniture and to promote modern housing culture through exhibitions and other means".
